First Aid courses
Obtaining your First Aid qualification is a pre-requisite to register and work within the fitness industry.
Australian Fitness Academy offers the following First Aid Courses:
HLTFA301B Apply First Aid (formerly Senior Level 2)
About this course
This Nationally Recognised 1 day course is delivered by Australian Fitness Academy regularly throughout the year.
The course is conducted in 2 stages:
-
Workbook
-
Practical Application
The workbook takes approx 4 hours to complete and must be completed prior to the practical day. It is not possible to attend the training day without having completed the workbook component. You require 80% or more to pass each of the 4 modules covered in the workbook. If you are attending just for your CPR Update there is no need to complete the workbook.
The practical day runs from 9am – 4pm and is a practical day of fun. Covering a number of scenarios and practical applications, this day allows you to consolidate what you have learned in the workbook in a ‘hands on’ manner. You will be taught and practice CPR on manikins and run through different emergency scenarios that may occur in everyday life.
The aim of this course is to develop your competence and confidence in providing emergency first aid. This includes calling for help, the ability to respond to first aid situations, casualty assessment, decision-making, and basic life support functions including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). This course covers adult and infant conditions.
You are assessed throughout the day and assisted through all first aid competencies as the day progresses.
Learning objectives include:
