NEVER HAS IT BEEN A BETTER TIME TO GET INTO THE FITNESS INDUSTRY, OR PROFESSIONALLY DEVELOP YOUR CAREER!
You have the option to study either online or in a face-to-face setting, which couldn’t be more flexible. With a range of courses that have all been designed to best equip graduates upon completion, the industry is continually benefiting from well-educated AFA graduates working as fitness professionals.
You may have been thinking about getting into the industry for a while…
- Maybe you just look at fitness instructors in your gym and think “That looks like such a fun job” (and you would be right!)
- Or see the flexibility Personal Trainers have in running their own business and want that lifestyle.
- Perhaps you are already working in the fitness industry and are looking to take the next step in your career with professional development.
Either way, joining the industry or growing within it has never been easier and more rewarding.
With an ageing population, combined with efforts by the Government to promote healthy living and weight loss, the industry doesn’t look like it is slowing down anytime soon. That’s great news for those interested in a career in fitness!
What would a typical day as a personal trainer entail?
The majority of PT’s are self-employed, so what you do each day and how much you earn really is up to you! A typical PT would charge on average $60/45 min session, and may complete, for example, 5 sessions/day, 5 days a week. That means a gross weekly income of $1,500!
Of course you can adjust this to your own requirements and lifestyle – that’s the beauty of running your own business! You take charge of your output.
Included in the AFA Certificate III & IV curriculum are modules focused on business operations and marketing of yourself as a Personal Trainer. This means that students of AFA will be well equipped to understand how to set up general business systems and market themselves for success.
Do you have what it takes to make a difference to people’s lives?
