Graduates are able to register with either Fitness Australia or Physical Activity Australia and registration is the accepted industry requirement for employment Registration is valid for 2-years and includes ongoing education requirements.

Starting a Business
Setting up your own business?
If you are planning on setting up your own Personal Training business there are a number of things you will need to arrange after you have registered with either Fitness Australia or Physical Activity Australia as a Personal Trainer.
The Academy has developed the ‘Ready, Set, Grow!’ e-book, a comprehensive guide to setting up and marketing your business. This e-book is available for all Certificate IV in Fitness students and graduates and is a must read for anyone looking to set up and build their business in the fitness industry. If you are setting up your own business and need templates for PAR-Q, Program Cards, Consultation Forms and Anthropometry Records please email and ask for the SAMPLE forms to help with your business set up.
The Academy also has a number of online relationships and you can list your new business for FREE online in a number of areas. For information on promoting yourself online please ask for the ‘Ready, Set, Grow!’ e-book.

UpSkilling & Continuing Education
If you work with a range of clients with complex medical needs you should consider upskilling to the SIS50213 Diploma of Fitness. The course covers exercise prescription for clients with a range of medical conditions and specialised needs including joint injuries, muscle tears, tendinopathy and ligament damage; cardiovascular and respiratory conditions; overweight and obesity; neurological disorders and disability. Continuing education is a requirement of your fitness registration with Fitness Australia (CECs) or Physical Activity Australia (PDPs). Australian Fitness Academy offers a range of CEC/PDP workshops, fully online and face-to-face. More information on these workshops can be found here.
