This new-era short course focuses on the emerging role of technology in the fitness industry and how to incorporate virtual sessions into your service offering.
Throughout this interactive course, you’ll gain a broad understanding of the advantages of implementing technologies into your fitness business and how to engage with your clients using digital resources.
This short course includes interactive videos and PowerPoint presentations with an assessment accessed via our Online Learning Portal.
If you’re a qualified Personal Trainer currently registered with AUSactive, you’ll be credited with 15 CEC points to put towards your registration.
Workshop Overview
In this workshop, you will also learn how to:
- Plan, deliver and evaluate online exercise programs, including the ability to identify the advantages/disadvantages of online exercise methods and assist clients in setting up an effective virtual training area.
- Use social media to generate and engage with an online audience, as well as handle positive and negative feedback across your profiles.
- Conduct a Technology Needs Assessment to identify how and when to update digital resources within your fitness business.

Units & Pre-Requisites
This Short Course contains three units from the SIS – Sport, Fitness and Recreation Training Package:
- SISFFIT046 Plan and instruct online exercise sessions
- SISXICT001 Select and use technology for sport, fitness and recreation work
- SIRXOSM003 Use social media and online tools
Upon completion of the Exercise & Technology Course, students will receive a Statement of Attainment for this unit. These units may be used as Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) to put towards gaining the full Certificate III in Fitness course.
Participants must have completed the Certificate IV in Fitness and be registered as a Personal Trainer to be eligible to attain AUSactive CEC’s from this course.


Course Cost
The cost of this Exercise & Technology Short Course is $300.
Payment must be made in full prior to receiving course access.
Upon receipt of payment, students will receive a short Enrolment Form to complete which will be processed by our Administration team within one to two business days.


Timeframes & Support
Students will have up to 3 months to complete this course. If all assessments are not complete, there is an option to extend your course access at an additional cost.
You will have access to our dedicated Student Support team from 8:30am to 5:00pm each weekday to assist you with any questions relating to course content or assessments.
