This course explores essential principles of Strength & Conditioning, where you’ll develop the expertise to conduct fitness testing, design/prescribe targeted training programs that meet the unique performance demands of different athletes and sports.
You’ll gain an understanding of specialised training methods such as plyometrics, SAQ and energy system training, with the aim of developing a long-term exercise program for clients.
Requiring around 20-25 hours of study time, this short course includes a comprehensive course manual, interactive videos, webinars and podcasts, and a realistic assessment—all accessed via our Online Learning Portal.
This course is also accredited with FITREC and AUSactive, so the qualification will also demonstrate your credibility as a fitness professional.
COURSE Overview
At the completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Differentiate between Strength & Conditioning training methods and identify the physiological and biomechanical improvements.
- Complete a needs analysis to develop an athlete profile and prescribe specific conditioning training exercises relevant to the athlete’s performance requirements.
- Select and use a range of fitness tests to assess physical performance and requirements for specific sports.
- Design a long-term training program that adheres to exercise science principles of programming and fatigue management, as well as individual conditioning training sessions specific to the goals of the macrocycle.
Continued Education Credits
Participants must have completed the Certificate IV in Fitness and be registered as a Personal Trainer to be eligible to attain 10 AUSactive CPD’s from this course or FITREC B 30 points.
Course Cost
The cost of this Strength & Conditioning Short Course is $500.
If you are an AFA graduate/student, you can bundle this short course with your Fitness studies for a discounted rate.
Payment must be made in full prior to receiving course access.
Upon receipt of payment, students will receive a short Enrolment Form to complete which will be processed by our Administration team within one to two business days.
Timeframes & Support
Students will have up to 3 months to complete this course. If all assessments are not complete, there is an option to extend your course access at an additional cost.
