CEC Courses & PDP Workshops
As qualified Fitness Professionals registered to work within the fitness industry (with Fitness Australia or Physical Activity Australia) you need to keep your knowledge up to date and relevant through continuing education.
When you come to the end of your fitness course, the learning phase of your quest to forge a career in the health and fitness industry is only just beginning. Your education needs to continue to evolve as you grow into the role. At Australian Fitness Academy (AFA), we realise the importance of keeping your skills and knowledge as sharp as possible, especially in the ever-changing world of fitness.
Continuing your education with AFA is a simple matter of taking a look at the various online workshops that we run, and picking out one, or several, which could help you brush up on your overall knowledge in certain areas that interest you most.
ONLINE COURSES FOR FITNESS PROFESSIONALS
Once you’ve completed the Certificate III & IV in Fitness, you’ll become eligible to register with Fitness Australia or Physical Activity Australia. Part of the requirements with your registration is ongoing education.
At AFA, we offer a broad range of fitness workshops, each of them worth between two (2) and four (4) Continuing Education Credits (CECs). By continuing your education with these CEC courses, not only will you develop your existing skills, but you’ll discover new ones.
The Personal Trainer courses and CEC courses can be completed in your own time, from the comfort of your own home, anywhere in Australia. It’s this flexibility that adds to the popularity of our CEC courses and, if you live in Victoria, there is also an opportunity for face-to-face workshops. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us to find out when these occur, and how to apply.
Which workshops does Australian Fitness Academy offer?
We currently offer seven online workshops, ranging from Back Injuries Prevention and Management, Exercise Considerations for the Lower Body, to Functional Training for Injury Prevention, and we are always developing more depending on current trends and what we feel will give you the edge in the industry.
We also offer Cycle Excel Indoor Cycling (levels 1, 2 and 3). What’s more, if you didn’t cover the Exercise and Older Adults elective, or the Exercise and Children module within your Certificate IV in Fitness, you can complete them as an online course with AFA. (If you completed your Certificate IV in Fitness with AFA you would have completed these modules as part of your course).
Before you enrol on any of the CEC courses, it’s important to determine whether or not you meet the eligibility requirements. Typically, this will involve having completed at least the Certificate III in Fitness, alongside the relevant units that cover the area that you’re looking to study. You can find out the specific eligibility requirements by checking out the individual workshop page – these are linked below.
OUR CEC COURSES & FITNESS WORKSHOPS
The Australian Fitness Academy offers the following fitness workshops, each offering between 2 and 5 CECs. If you’re in need of 20 CECs, check out our Industry Ready Pack, which comes as a set of online workshops that will get you 20 CECs.
